Last Night

Mama Tanzania

Finally!  Pictures!

We are in Amsterdam for our final night before heading back to “America”.  Dan celebrated his birthday in a beautiful square in Bremen Germany over lunch with Anna and her  boyfriend Soren.  It was a warm sunny day and we were surrounded by churches from the 11th century and the city hall from about the same time – nearly breathtaking although a very different  landscape than TZ.  It was great!

We enjoyed lots of public transportation, the wonderful produce markets and bakeries and flower shops in Germany.  What a nice visit, although short.

But now, we are tired and ready to be home in America for a few days of visiting family and resting.

We arrive in Seattle at about noon on KLM flight #6033/Northwest Airline.  Adrianne will pick us up  at the airport and we will stay on the westside for a few days before making the final “descent” into home and the task of figuring out how to convey 3 months of life-changing experiences into anything that will make any sense to others!

Thanks for continued prayers.

Have a safe trip home. Thanks for the picture. Looking forward to more.

Not sure if you are a Mac or a Pc person but the best thing we have found are the photo books we make through iphoto on our Mac’s. They are really easy to make and look fantastic. You can do something similar at kodak.com and a few other places. We have made small books of really fun weekends to large hardback books of the wedding. Heather makes a really large book each year just of Kendall. Since you can make multiple copies I give them to everyone that was involved in the event. We love our photo books. Even if I want to do a scrapbook I still make one of these. Won’t solve your problem of how to share with those of us far away but it is a great thing to help you preserve your memories.

Take time to reenter “society”. I’m sure it will take some time to get use to everything again.

As I write this I think you’ll be zoomin’ over the Atlantic ocean! … or maybe more like upper Canada? Hope you’re snuggled in and staying warm while flying some 7 miles up high in the sky! We’re eager to have you back “home” though we know you’ll need time to adjust and prayerfully unpack all that has transpired in the past few months. Wow. God will make it good!

    Peace and Joy to you!

    Pr. Dan

Heidi! I am in tears thinking about the state of your heart and body. The emotions of both sides of leaving and coming home……it will be nice to have you safely home…..there is nothing like living an adventure (that I don’t think I would have the nerve to take) through you. You and your daughter can take any trip you want and journal me through it and I AM THERE! The Lord has done and is doing amazing things here and there and you have been a part of it!! You are such a blessing! I will be praying for you over these next couple of weeks as you move back into your home life and living! I am sure there will be a new respect for everything…..I love you and was very happy to get on and see a picture of you!!!! Will be looking forward to however you decide to tell this story. Sounds like I need to ship my scrapbooking supplies to Kennewick and come make a scrapbook for you to help tell the story!!!! Let me know! Love and hugs to my brother! I love you both very much!
    Blessings!
Sister Cathy…..not as in “Sister” but sister as in sibling….(a little humor)!!!

    Hi Heidi,
Just catching up with your travels and saw you went to Bremen. I’ve sung there a few times. Did you go in the church with the bell that fell when the allies bombed the city and it melted into the ground inside the church? That was really something to see. Most people dont think about going toBremen but it definately is worth a stop. Although, I dont have found memories of that train station there, I was almost Knifed to death by some unsavory type one night. But thats another storey. Did you go to Hamburg? I guess I better read on….
    Terri
